In between the storms we popped into Kirkwall as Anna had a hair appointment, the hairdresser had decided not to get the ferry back to the island where she lived but to stay in town that night so she could deal with her customers the next day! We had a couple of other things to do so whilst Anna was being ‘done’ I bimbled off around town. I was passing a shop window and hadn’t realized that Orkney Fashion Week had started! They had a magnificent display of what the smartly dress Orcadian will be wearing this winter! ( See photo ) There are rumors of Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford coming over for a catwalk display as soon as the ferry is running and they can find their wellies!

We had already bought ours as we thought it is a good idea where we are with no street lights at all.
